Invisible Objects

These objects are charged with nostalgia. Drawing from her experience, Samah creates ceramic recreations of dominoes, necklace beads, and croissants. The necklace recounts moments in her upbringing when she would help her aunt and grandmother in the creative and fun process of making necklaces. The dominoes recalls the fun, shared experience of playing the game in the summertime by the beach with her family.  Lastly, the croissant recounts the experience in her upbringing when she would help out her grandparents in making pastries for their bakery. In addition to producing artwork that denotes ephemerality due to the fleeting nature of time, this was an opportunity to expand technical skills in ceramic work.
