I Can't Keep Quiet

This installation piece features 56 maxi pads onto which different images of women’s struggles are attached. Through these images, Samah addresses different issues, for instance, the intersection of womanhood and race and the resulting discrimination. Also includes are issues of religion, poverty, and domestic violence for women. This work was made to be provocative because it expresses the challenges that women have to tackle in addition to the systematized gender discrimination that exists in many areas of American society. Therefore, Samah attempts to evoke strong feelings about these different forms of struggle for women.
